The Ronald McDonald House (RMH) of Long Branch and New Brunswick is hosting its 19th annual golf tournament on July 9 at the Battle Ground Country Club in Manalapan.
Guests will be treated to lunch, open bar, hors d’oeuvres, dinner, silent auction, and an awards presentation. There will be two hole-in-one contests as well as a chance to qualify for the $1 million shoot out.
The year 2012 marks the 25th anniversary of the Ronald McDonald House of Long Branch and New Brunswick. RMH provides a home away from home for families of seriously ill children receiving care at medical facilities nearby.
RMH also offers family rooms in two hospitals and a hospitality suite in the pediatric units of three hospitals in Monmouth County and one in Middlesex County. In this way, families can stay together in comfortable surroundings, helping them to remain strong throughout the course of their child’s treatment. Thanks to the ongoing help and support RMH receives, it can offer a welcoming, supportive environment for families during a time of uncertainty and stress.

MIDDLETOWN
The ninth and final Ryan’s Run is set for 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 30, on the grounds of the Mountain Hill School, 724 Kings Highway East.
Close to 1,000 runners are expected to participate in the road and trail races organized by the Ryan Andrew Kaiser Memorial Foundation in association with the Jersey Shore Running Club.
The event will feature a 1-mile fun run and kids races followed by the “Remember Ryan’s Run” 5K twilight start. The race will culminate with a large, tented event on the school grounds for a post-race party with music and dancing.
Attendees will be treated to a fully catered dinner provided courtesy of the Middletown restaurants Outback Steakhouse, Carrabba’s and Bonefish Grill.
Runners will be admitted as part of their registration fee; non-runners are asked to make a donation at the door.
Though the 2012 Ryan’s Run marks the last 5K event for the organization, the foundation will continue fundraising in other capacities to support its mission of donating to families of critically ill children in need of medical assistance and lodging; contributing to the construction of eight memorial playgrounds; and renovating several playrooms at local hospitals.
The foundation is a charitable organization established in 2003 after the sudden and unexpected death of Ryan Kaiser. Ryan, the 6-year-old son of Andy and Lauren Kaiser, was born with congenital heart disease. Ryan had three open-heart surgeries before he was 2 years old.
