Following a successful move to Asbury Park in 2013, The Arc of Monmouth will bring its Step Up for The Arc Walk & 5K back to the boardwalk on Saturday, April 12.
The goal of the event is to raise more than $50,000 to provide health care, housing and other vital services for people with Down syndrome, autism and other intellectual and developmental disabilities.
The event will begin at 8:30 a.m. with the 5K run with a walk to follow at 11 a.m. Registration will be held at the Stone Pony’s summer stage area with those in the 5K checking in beginning at 8 a.m. and walkers checking in beginning at 10 a.m. Awards will be presented following each event.
Starbucks and Wegmans will provide free coffee and bagels, and the legendary Stone Pony will host an after-party BBQ, with grilling expertise provided by the Lodges of the 17th Masonic District.
In addition to giveaways, raffles and door prizes, the event will feature live music and DJ, a free photo booth and unlimited free pinball at the Silver Ball Museum Arcade.
