ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS
The 6th Annual Atlantic Highlands Chamber of Commerce Car Show will take place Saturday, June 14.
The show will open at 10 a.m. and close at 4 p.m. Registration for exhibitors is 8 to 10 a.m. While the show is a family event, it is especially exciting for the classic car buff.
The auto expo will be held on First Avenue, which will be closed for the show. Many classic and vintage automobiles and trucks will be featured.
There will be handcrafters and automotive related vendors in Veteran’s Park. All the borough’s shops will be open and will be happy to show visitors what they have to offer. The restaurants also will be open to show why Atlantic Highlands is fast becoming an eating destination.
There will be two areas of entertainment, with live bands. One stage will be near Center Avenue and another stage will be set up in the park. The bands for this year include The May Darlings, Lauren Pennington, P.K. Lavengood and Joe Harvard.
The rain date is Saturday, June 21.

The German School of Monmouth County’s English-language Bonanza Book Sale will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 20.
Following the sale, visitors are invite bring their beach chair to watch The World Cup – Germany vs. Uganda – on a large screen.
The school, located at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 112 Middletown Road, kicks off the summer with a selection of more than 1,000 books from romance novels, bestsellers, mysteries, classics, children’s favorites, as well as a variety of history, travel and coffee table books.
Books range in price from 25 cents to $5 and will be organized by genre including: art and art history, historical fiction, bestsellers, mystery, romance, classics, children’s, science and technology, among others.
“We recently received a very generous donation from ardent English book collectors Diane and Ernie Koenig, who have relocated and wanted to give their large holdings to a worthy cause,” said parent volunteer Gudrun Ronan, whose daughter attends the school. “The treasure trove of books is truly breathtaking, with something for everyone, children and adults, including every type of novel, as well as coffee style books with gorgeous photography that make great gifts.”
Authors included range from classics such as Charles Dickens to bestsellers such as John Grisham, Danielle Steele and Stuart Wood, and more. Proceeds from the sale benefit the German School of Monmouth County’s multimedia German library and classroom enrichment programs.

LOCUST
Student Veterans of America (SVA) is holding from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, June 20, a summer wine tasting of artisanal New Jersey wines.
The event, which will benefit SVA and its local New Jersey and New York chapters, will be held at Locust Hill Vineyard, 713 Navesink River Road. Rain date will be June 21.
SVA is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that provides military veterans with resources, support and advocacy needed to succeed in higher education and post-graduation.
Space is limited. Tickets are $75 per person, $150 per couple. Guests must be 21 or older.
