RED BANK
The Red Bank Humanists (RBH) will host a forum from 10:30 a.m. to noon Sunday, Nov. 9 titled “Trends in Early Childhood Education,” featuring Daniel J. Flannery, COO of Jumping Giant Productions, specializing in children’s media.
The event, which will be held at the Red Bank Charter School, 58 Oakland St., is free and open to the public.
Flannery replaces the speaker that was originally slated to appear on Nov. 9.
Flannery was a recipient of the 2011 Fred Rogers Memorial Scholarship for his work with children’s music and media. Combined with his experience as a lead preschool teacher, Flannery’s understanding of the way different age groups interact with games, stories, and songs across media platforms is kid-tested and expert-approved. He is also an award-winning songwriter for children.
At this forum, Flannery will touch on topics such as how children are being educated in schools, at home and by the environment and if these exposures are compatible with the way their brains are wired.
