Marian T. Adams, 90, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 28. She received her bachelor’s degree in science and R.N. degree from Hunter College, New York. She taught nursing and then served in Washington D.C. General Hospital for many years in charge of nursing quality assurance.

She was active in local theater and played lead roles in “The Subject was Roses,” “All My Sons” and “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf.” She always received excellent reviews including from The Washington Post.

After the death of her husband, G. Kenneth Adams, she raised her daughter and with pride saw her graduate from college and law school. Marian was an extraordinary mother and grandmother who was always supportive, available, and gave great insight.

She is survived by her daughter, Leslie, and her husband, Watson Berich, of Middletown, with whom she resided; her granddaughter, Emily, who she also saw graduate from the Honors College at the College of Charleston; and her beloved dog, Asta.

A memorial gathering for family and friends will be held at the Thompson Memorial Home, 310 Broad Street, Red Bank on Friday, December 2, from 5 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 3 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church, 121 Bridge Avenue, Red Bank. Interment is private.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate a donation in her name to Friends of the Parks, PO Box 686 Lincroft, NJ 07738 for installation of park benches at Deep Cut Gardens.
