Bernard J. Aiken, 64, died peacefully at his home in Twin Brook Village in Ocean. Bernard graduated from Red Bank Regional High School. He was a youth leader for the 1st Baptist Church of Asbury Park. He was employed for a while at Monmouth Medical Center and was also employed by Builders General Supply Co. for 30 years. Bernard was a kind, caring, sweet, loveable, and compassionate man, who was a wonderful loving husband and the best dad the girls could ask for.

He is survived by his beloved wife at home, Madeline C. Bertolette-Aiken. He is also survived by his mother, Elizabeth of Ariz.; two daughters, Jessica Matthews of Neptune City and Crystal Aiken of Manasquan. He also has three grandchildren whom he loved dearly, McKenna, Luke, and Phoebe; and eight nieces and nephews, Cortney, Bree, Cody, Hunter, Caileigh, Colin, Elizabeth Ruth, and Zxai. Also surviving are his three sisters, Claudia of Ariz., Sandra of Calif., and Wanda of Texas; and his brother-in-law, His Eminence Bishop Ephraem of Middletown.

Visitation was held on Saturday, August 29 at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown. A service was of fered during the visitation. A graveside service took place on Monday September 1 at Bay View Cemetery, Middletown. For more information or to condolences, please visit www.pfleger fh.com.
