Ruth M. Albrecht, 87, of Keyport, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Friday, April 1 at Bayshore Community Hospital in Holmdel, just 18 days shy of her 88th birthday. She was born Ruth M. Unkel on April 19, 1928 in Queens, New York, where she grew up. On June 6, 1948, Ruth and her husband, John, were married and began their life together. In 1955, they moved to Union Beach to raise their family. In 1999, Ruth settled in Keyport.

Since living in New Jersey, she has been a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church. Ruth always lived life to the fullest. She loved reading, enjoying a meal out at a restaurant, and especially getting her hair done, which she did at least twice a week. She was greatly loved by all of her family.

She was predeceased by her parents, William and Catherine (Klersy) Unkel; her beloved husband, John Joseph Albrecht Sr.; her brother, William Unkel; and her brothers-in-law, Paul Davis and William Greene Sr.

Ruth is survived by her loving children, John J. Albrecht Jr. and his wife, Margie, of Waretown and Gail C. Hubbard and her husband, Bernard, of Morganville; her dear sisters, Louise Davis and Christine Greene; her cherished grandchildren, Dr. Joshua Albrecht and his wife Jane, Dr. Stephanie Hubbard, Zachary Albrecht and his wife, Dr. Meghan Knox and Amanda Andrews and her husband, Paul; her adored great-grandchildren, Joshua Adam Albrecht Jr. (“J.J.”), Ella Paige Andrews and Jack Guy Albrecht; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
