Come out and support the importance of annual mammography

By now you’ve probably seen some part of the Pink hue surrounding Monmouth and Ocean counties, courtesy of Meridian Health’s Paint the Town Pink.
This year’s month-long Pink campaign includes numerous signature Pink events to raise awareness of the importance of mammography. In about three weeks, The Care To Give Council, a Riverview Medical Center and Bayshore Community Hospital Auxiliary, will be hosting its annual Party for Pink at the Navesink Country Club in Middletown.

The Care to Give Council of Riverview Medical Center and Bayshore Community Hospital gathers in 2012 at the annual Party for Pink at the Navesink Country Club. This year’s Party for Pink is scheduled for May 31.

Take part in an evening to remember from 7 to 11 p.m. Friday, May 31. Come out for a fun-filled night of dinner, drinks and dancing, including live music by Total Soul, New York City’s most exciting party band playing everything from Motown to today’s pop and R&B to the jazz/big band standards of the 1940s.
Tickets are $75 and reservations are limited. To purchase tickets call 855-PINK411.
In addition, this year’s event will feature two special awards for individuals who have Paint the Town Pink running through their hearts. Tria Deibert, marketing director for Riverview Medical Center and Bayshore Community Hospital, will be honored with the Pink Visionary award and Sally Harris, the very first Paint the Town Pink committee member, will be honored with the Pink Volunteer award.
Harris is from Ocean Grove and 2013 marks the seventh year she has been volunteering her time to the Pink committee. More importantly, 2013 marks the seventh year that Harris is cancer free. Harris is a firm believer in annual mammograms, especially after one identified something suspicious in her breast seven years ago.
Paint the Town Pink 2013 runs from May 1-31. Party for Pink is just one of the exciting events happening during the month. For a complete list of events, ticket and registration information and more, visit www.PaintheTownPink.com. To register for any event, call 855-PINK411.
Proceeds from any ticketed event will benefit the Pink Fund, which provides mammography for uninsured or underinsured women in our community.
Also be sure to follow Paint the Town Pink on Facebook to see highlights of this year’s campaign.
