Annual Westside Music Event Hosted by Council’s Vision Committee

RED BANK – The Count Basie 365 Cultural Series’ next free, open-air concert, featuring The Gambone Project, will be held at 6:45 p.m. Friday, Sept. 12, in the pocket park at Drs. James Parker Blvd. and Shrewsbury Avenue.
Council members Juanita Lewis and Edward Zipprich, members of the Borough’s Vision Committee invite the public to enjoy the music.
“Bring your lawn chairs and your friends,” Zipprich said.
“Feel the groove of jazz nights in Count Basie’s hometown,” Lewis said.
The Count Basie 365 Cultural Series is in its third year of producing the free concerts in the only usable public park west of Shrewsbury Avenue. The Vision Committee, which founded the cultural series to celebrate the Count’s music legacy, is chaired by council  Lewis and Ed Zipprich. Former councilwoman Sharon Lee, Parks & Recreation Director Memone Crystian, Gilda Rogers and Assistant Borough Administrator Gary Watson serve on the committee.
The remaining Friday evening concert on Sept. 19 will feature the Red Bank String Project and Chuck Lambert.
The 2014 series sponsors are Morgan Stanley, Lunch Break and the Red Bank Community YMCA.
