William Boccellato, 91, passed away April 29 at home. He was born in Long Branch. He served in the United States Navy during World War II and he was a civilian employee at Ft. Monmouth until his retirement. After his retirement from the fort, he was a bus driver for many years for Murphy Transportation in Middletown. William was a member of the River Plaza Fire Co. for over 40 years and was a member of the Rumson Seniors. He was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church.
William was predeceased by his son-in-law, Albert Culos in 2016. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Barbara; his son, Ronald of River Plaza; his daughter, Gloria Culos of Brick; grandchildren Alicia Curcio, Theresa and her husband Aaron Josa and Brian and Jamie Boccellato; and great-grandchildren Joseph, Thomas, Chloe and Lucas Curcio, Aaron and Brandon Josa, and Eliana and Caelin Boccellato.
Visitation was May 4 with a Fireman’s Service at the Thompson Memorial Home, Red Bank. Funeral Service was May 5 at the funeral home with interment to follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Middletown.
