Brasch Elected Treasurer of the NJ Society of CPAs

Walter J. Brasch, CPA, of Little Silver, has been elected treasurer of the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants (NJSCPA) for a one-year term that began June 1.
Brasch is a regional managing partner at Parente­Beard LLC, NJ Metro Region, Clark. He joined the New Jersey Society of CPAs in 1977. This is Brasch’s second term as treasurer. He has served on the NJSCPA Board of Trustees and is currently a member and past chair of the NJ-CPA-PAC, having served on the finance and governmental accounting and auditing committees, as well as the health care and accounting and auditing interest groups.
He has also served as president, vice president, secretary and director of the Monmouth/Ocean Chapter.
Brasch is a member of the Health Care Financial Manage­ment Association, associate business member of the New Jersey Association of School Business Officials and board member of the New Jersey State Chamber of Commerce.
In the community, Brasch served as board chair and treasurer of Raritan Bay Medical Center, alumni association president of Christian Brothers Academy (CBA), board member and committee chair of the American Cancer Society and board member and treasurer of the Boy Scouts of America, Monmouth Council. He is the recipient of the CBA Alumnus of the Year Award and currently serves on the CBA Major Gifts Committee.
Brasch earned his B.B.A. in accounting from St. Bonaventure University. He and his wife, Ann, have a son, daughter and two grandchildren.
