Chloe Lambert Brokaw, 78, of Oceanport, passed away on Tuesday, November 7 at Arbor Terrace in Tinton Falls. She was an administrative assistant and had worked for L-3 Communications, Telos Corp, Ford Aerospace and Communications Corp, IBM Corp and IBM World Trade Corp.

She was a graduate of Syracuse University and of the Katharine Gibbs Business School, New York City. Born in Manhattan, she lived in Queens and Hastings-on-Hudson, before moving to Little Silver in 1968, where she lived for 27 years before moving to Oceanport.

Chloe was an active member of the Embury United Methodist Church in Little Silver, where she served on the Parsonage Committee, the Pastor-Parish Relations Committee, Social Concerns Committee, the Advisory Board and she also chaired the Chicken Barbeque and Fair for several years. As a member of the United Methodist Church of Red Bank, she was an active participant of the Education Commission, the Cradle Roll Committee and the Scholarship Assistance Committee. Chloe was a Cub Scout Den Leader and Cub Scout Pack Fund Raiser in Little Silver. She was a membership chairman of the American Association of University Women, a Reach to Recovery Volunteer Counselor for the American Cancer Society and the first Director of Welfare in Little Silver.

Chloe enjoyed playing cards, was an avid reader and crossword enthusiast and loved the ballet and musical theater. She was a devoted mother and loved spending time with family and friends. She will be missed by many who knew her.

Chloe was predeceased by her parents, Harriet and John Lambert; her brother, James Lambert; and her beloved son, Barry Brokaw. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Brad and Katharine Brokaw; her grandchildren, ShaiAnne and Brayden Brokaw; and her cousins, Stephanie Pavlakis of Pompano Beach, Florida, Victoria Lambert of Long Beach, New York, Helen Baur of Loveland, Ohio and Patricia Vlah of Chesterland, Ohio.
