Curchin Group Hosts 7th Annual Mini-Golf Tournament to Benefit Local Charities
RED BANK – The Curchin Group, LLC will host its Seventh Annual Curchin Open miniature golf event for charity at the firm’s borough office. The event, originally slated for Nov. 7 was postponed until Nov. 20 and will be going on from 4 to 7 p.m. Clients, sponsors, and friends will join in a round of putt-putt on a Curchin team-designed course that flows through the firm’s office.
All proceeds from this year’s event benefit two local charities: The Community YMCA, a non-profit, charitable organization committed to strengthening communities in Monmouth County by focusing on youth development, healthy living and social responsibility; and Coastal Habitat for Humanity, a non-profit organization based in Spring Lake that aims to build the local community and improve lives by partnering with low income families and community volunteers to build affordable, safe, and efficient homes throughout Monmouth County.
During the past six years, the Curchin Open has raised and donated more than $75,000 to local charities.
Herrick Named President of Conn. Academy
RED BANK – The Academy of Spiritual & Consciousness Studies, Inc. has announced the Rev. Karen E. Herrick, Ph.D., as its first female president in its 38-year history.
The academy is headquartered in Bloomfield, Conn., and its mission is to discern, develop and disseminate knowledge between clergy and academics of religion, philosophy and scientific researchers in the field of psychical research and spiritually transformative experiences. Herrick has been the founder and director of the Center for Children of Alcoholics, 205 Broad St., Red Bank, for more than 25 years. She has lectured throughout the United States on dysfunctional and addictive homes, dissociation, grief and loss. She was ordained at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York City in 1995 as an interfaith minister. She is the author of the book You’re Not Finished Yet.
R-FH Bank & Trust Announces Senior Management Changes
RUMSON – The Board of Directors of Rumson-Fair Haven Bank & Trust announced senior management changes that are effective immediately.
Stephen Tyler, a director, founder and former president and chief executive officer of the bank, has been elected as interim chairman of the board. Tyler has been associated with the bank since its founding and has an extensive background in the industry from a distinguished career in financial management at J.P. Morgan & Co. in New York, from which he retired in 1998.
The board also named F. James Hutchinson, current chairman, as president and chief executive officer. Hutchinson was named as a director of the bank in 2011 and assumed the chairman’s role in May. He was formerly president of an investment management firm and prior to that had a 30-year career with The Bank of New York in various lending capacities, including serving as president of The Bank of New York (Delaware) and chairman of The Bank of New York, New Jersey. Hutchinson replaces Dennis Flanagan, who is no longer with the bank.

MORRIS PLAINS – The Weichert Family of Companies recently announced the start of the 34th Annual Weichert Toy Drive. Members of the community are invited to drop off new, unwrapped toys at the company’s sales offices through Dec. 14. The toys will be delivered throughout the holidays in conjunction with local charities that assist financially and physically disadvantaged children.
