Weight Loss Practice Gets Bigger as Patients Get Smaller

SHREWSBURY – Dr. Claudia Huegel always knew she had a gift to inspire patients and 2½ years ago she found the perfect way to do just that, by helping patients lose excess weight with her own Shrewsbury practice, Medimorphosis Physician Assisted Weight Loss. Her approachable nature and the relaxed atmosphere, in addition to her unique program, have resulted in a practice so successful that Medimorphosis is planning to move to a larger office by early 2013.
When Huegel was a primary care physician in busy offices located in Freehold and Howell, she concluded that most of her patients’ health problems stemmed from being overweight. Almost seven years ago she focused on finding the best ways to help patients achieve a healthy weight. She developed a program including nutritional and exercise counseling. In addition, she offers body composition analysis, medical monitoring and implementation of cognitive behavioral techniques to help with motivation and behavioral changes. She teaches her patients to think differently in order to change their behavior.
Patients at or near goal weight began asking the doctor how they could get rid of excess loose skin and those stubborn bulges that losing weight and exercise just could not address. So again, Huegel answered her patients’ call and now offers the most advanced new technique from Accent to non-surgically achieve skin tightening and body contouring. The Accent machine utilizes radiofrequency waves to painlessly heat the skin leaving troubled spots tighter and smoother.
Huegel is excited to announce plans to include the addition of genetic testing to her current program. The cutting-edge technology will give each patient optimal weight loss and exercise plans based on their DNA. She is the only area physician who will be offering such advanced testing and plans to help even more patients address unanswered questions about their eating behavior and type of exercise and diet that is best for them.
