Pure Barre Opens in Red Bank


RED BANK – Pure Barre has launched its newest location in the borough.

The new franchise studio opened Wednesday, May 8, at 127 Broad St. It is owned by Melanie Colman and Molly D’Alessio. “There are many group and individual exercises out there, but Pure Barre is the one that allows you to tone your entire body and burn fat, eliminating the need for other workouts,” D’Alessio said.

“The best part, Pure Barre is fun and addictive, so you can’t wait to come back the next day,” Colman said.

The ballet barre workout has exploded in popularity since its inception in 2001. Focusing on the areas of the body women struggle with the most, Pure Barre lifts the seat, tones the thighs and upper body, and creates the long and lean muscles of a dancer through small isometric movements centered around a ballet barre.

Since it began franchising in 2009, more than 100 Pure Barre studios have opened nationwide.

Mass Joins Brokers 3 Realtors

KPI Bridge Oil Donated $25,000 to Help Union Beach Residents


RED BANK – KPI Bridge Oil made a donation of $25,000 to Operation Provide Comfort to help the residents of Union Beach rebuild their homes.

“This donation allowed for soil testing we required before building four prefabricated, solar homes,” said Union Beach Borough Administrator Jennifer Maier. “The KPI grant also showed the momentum we needed to make our grant to the Robin Hood Foundation more viable. Ultimately, it netted us an additional $725,000 to build the homes.”

KPI Bridge Oil Managing Director Rob Atkinson, a Fair Haven resident, said the company donated $25,000 to be used for soil testing and design development of the spec houses with the remaining funds to be used for building materials.

He noted that while the company also donated to good causes after Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans, Super Storm Sandy hit much closer to home.

“We all live and work on the Jersey Shore,” Atkinson said. “In fact, one of our employees lost the entire first floor of his building due to the storm!”

Atkinson noted that the company decided to use money, initially slated for holiday gifts to vendors, clients and employees, for a donation. His former partner, Ernest Janssen, a resident of Colts Neck, informed him of an opportunity to work with Operation Provide Comfort to help the residents of Union Beach. This would allow the company to be more directly involved than just giving money.

“It made sense for us to work with Operation Provide Comfort and the town of Union Beach,” Atkinson said. “After discussions with the town administrator, it became apparent that many of the residents would have trouble bridging the gap between what their insurance would cover and what would be required to get them back into their homes again. This hit close to home and affected everyone in our company, so we wanted to do something that would make a difference.”

The company and its employees are looking forward to seeing the first of the prefab homes go up, knowing that their contributions will provide a much-needed home for a Union Beach family.

RED BANK – Hovnanian® Homes® was the recipient of several awards at the 26th Annual Sales and Marketing (SAM) Awards Banquet, held in April at the Tropicana Casino & Resort in Atlantic City.

The SAM Awards are presented every year by the New Jersey Builders Association (NJBA) to honor the industry’s most creative and successful sales and marketing initiatives, including excellence in residential design and marketing programs within the state of New Jersey.

The banquet was attended by more than 400 advertising, sales, marketing, media and homebuilding industry professionals. Vaccaro Named M.U’s Distinguished Business Leader


WEST LONG BRANCH – Monmouth University honored James S. Vaccaro as its 2013 Distinguished Business Leader at an annual dinner in March in Wilson Hall.

Vaccaro is president & CEO of Manasquan Savings Bank, an $840 million mutual banking organization founded in 1874, with eight offices and branches located throughout Monmouth and Ocean counties, New Jersey.

A leader in the banking profession, he served as chairman, president and CEO of Central Jersey Bancorp, parent company of Allaire Community Bank and Monmouth Community Bank, which he helped found in 1998. From 1982 to 1995, Vaccaro served in various capacities at Central Jersey Bank and Trust Co. including executive vice president, treasurer, CFO and as a member of the board of directors.

“Mr. Vaccaro is an extraordinary business and civic leader,” said Paul G. Gaffney II, president of Monmouth University. “His work ethic and commitment to the communities he serves make him a fitting role model for our students and the business community at large. We are proud to honor him for his many accomplishments.”

Vaccaro is a member of the board of trustees for Saint Barnabas Corporation, Monmouth Medical Center, the New Jersey Repertory Theater and Monmouth University. He is chairman of the board of Visiting Nurses Association of Central New Jersey, is on the advisory board of Interfaith Neighbors and the leadership council of Prevention First. He has also served on the board of directors for the New Jersey Bankers Association.

In 2007 the Long Branch Chamber of Commerce honored Vaccaro with the Louis G. Libutti Community Service Award for exceptional leadership, professional achievement, and stellar record of community service.

Vaccaro received a B.S. in economics from Ursinus College and a PDM certification from Harvard Graduate School of Business. He is a member of the Business Council of Monmouth University’s Leon Hess Business School.

SHREWSBURY – Heritage House Sotheby’s International Realty recently took part in The Monmouth County Women’s Council of Realtors® Event, Bras for a Cause. to help raise money and awareness for the American Cancer Society to help those in their fight against breast and cervical cancer.

Mary Burke, broker/owner, Heritage House Sotheby’s International Realty and several of the firm’s Realtor associates joined the predominantly female crowd at Merri-Makers Caterers, PNC Bank Arts Center on Thursday, April 25, to bid on themed bras that were created and auctioned off in support American Cancer Society and their 100th year birthday.

The all-male models, a total of 25, donned themed bras, sponsored by local real estate, mortgage, insurance and title companies, as announcer and auctioneer, Tara Feeley of Feeley Entertainment started the bidding. The stage came alive with men, bras, music, and bidding. Each design had its own playful theme, such as Happy Birthday ACS, Wipe out Breast Cancer and others.

“The event raised just over $13,000 with 100 percent of the funds collected at auction going directly to American Cancer Society.” said co-planner Colleen Camillo, president-elect, WCR and Realtor associate with Heritage House Sotheby’s International Realty.

The second highest bid of the night was $1,700 and went to Heritage House Sotheby’s International Realty’s “Restore the Shore” bra, modeled by Patrick Donlin, a referral associate with the firm. Patrick’s mother, Dorothy “Dot” Donlin, a Realtor associate in the Middletown Office and director of training at Heritage House Sotheby’s International Realty, is a breast cancer survivor.

Donlin and her fellow Realtor associates, Burke and her corporate team cheered Patrick on and helped to drive up the bid.
