Coldwell Banker Hosts Charity Rummage Sale, Shredding Event
RUMSON – Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Rumson hosted a charitable rummage sale at its 17 West River Road office during April’s Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage “Cares Days” event, raising $315 for the Waves of Action For the Shore program.
The program is a long-term volunteer program that hosts monthly cleanup days in areas impacted by Super Storm Sandy.

The second Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage office in Rumson at 1 West River Road hosted a community shredding event during which the community was invited to bring important or confidential documents to be destroyed for privacy purposes. The office also collected 30 bicycles for local children who lost their bikes during Sandy.
During Cares Days, Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage’s 58 offices throughout New Jersey and Rockland County, N.Y. each gave back to their local communities through the Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Cares Foundation, the company’s philanthropic arm.
Approximately 800 Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage sales associates participated in Cares Days, volunteering a combined 5,000 hours to support 62 different organizations and causes. During the three-day event, the Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Cares Foundation raised $13,000 for charitable causes and collected 5,000 pounds of food – valued at $13,900 – and $750 in dog and cat supplies.

Former M’Town Mayor Named Public Servant of the Year
MIDDLETOWN – Township Committeeman Anthony Fiore has been named the 2013 Public Servant of the Year by the Northern Monmouth Chamber of Commerce (NMCC).
The award, which is part of the chamber’s Crystal Beacon Awards program, is presented to the person who embodies the true spirit of public service through faithfully discharging the responsibilities of their office or position of public service. Honorees are nominated and selected by the chamber’s membership at large.
“I could think of no one more deserving of this award than Tony Fiore. His leadership during and after Super Storm Sandy and his efforts since he’s been on the township committee have been outstanding,” Mayor Gerard P. Scharfenberger said.
As mayor in 2012, Fiore founded and currently chairs the Middletown Disaster Relief Fund, a private 501(c)3 dedicated to helping Middletown residents severely affected by Super Storm Sandy rebuild their homes.  To date, the fund has raised more than $750,000 for Middletown residents to assist in the rebuilding process.
Fiore has been serving on the township committee since 2009. He served as mayor in 2011 and 2012, deputy mayor in 2009 and was member of the on the Middletown Planning Board from 2006 through 2009.
Fiore also has been involved in a number of boards and commissions through his tenure, including chairman of the Middletown 10th Anniversary 9/11 Memorial, chairman of the Middletown Day Committee 2012 and 2013, as a member of the Middletown Municipal Drug and Alcohol Alliance and the Middletown Township and Board of Education Shared Services Committee. Fiore is also a member of the New Jersey State League of Municipalities League Conference Resolutions Committee.
Fiore is a vice president with Prudential Investments, a division of Prudential Financial.  He is a certified retirement and pension specialist and holds various industry designations such as the Professional Plan Consultant (PPC) and Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF). He is licensed by the National Association for Securities Dealers (NASD).
Fiore holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Rutgers University. He is an alumnus of the Pi Sigma Alpha National Political Science Honor Society. He and his wife Courtney have two young daughters, Allessandra and Julianna.
 
Officials Welcome New Financial Solutions Center to Red Bank
RED BANK – Officials gathered on Saturday, May 11, for a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the grand opening of the OceanFirst Bank Financial Solutions Center.
The new facility, located at 73 Broad St., provides customers with the convenience of one-stop access to a variety of services including: retail and business banking, commercial and residential lending, investment services and trust and asset management.

The location is the 25th office for the Jersey Shore community bank that serves Ocean, Monmouth and Middlesex counties. District 11 State Senator Jennifer Beck, Red Bank Mayor Pasquale Menna and Monmouth County Freeholder Lillian Burry joined OceanFirst Bank officers including President and Chief Operating Officer Christopher Maher, Vice President and Red Bank Branch Manager Lauren Dezzi, and Board of Director Diane Rhine for the official ribbon-cutting ceremony, during which Burry declared May 11 OceanFirst Bank Day in Monmouth County.
“We are thrilled to bring convenience banking to downtown Red Bank. Our new facility will provide customers with access to the financial tools they need coupled with the extraordinary service they deserve,” Maher said.
