Girl Scouts, Family & Children’s Service to Benefit from Curchin Mini-Golf Open

RED BANK – The Curchin Group’s annual indoor miniature golf tournament will once again benefit two locally based nonprofit organizations.
All proceeds from this year’s event sponsored by the mid-sized, full-service accounting firm will be Family & Children’s Service and the Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore.
The Nov. 6 event, from 4 to 7 p.m., marks the eighth annual fundraiser at Curchin’s Red Bank office. Player fees are $20 per person, which includes one round of golf, food and beverages.
Curchin is offering sponsorship opportunities to local businesses that would like to help the selected charities as well as raise their profile in the community.
Located in Long Branch, Family & Children’s Service (FCS) is the oldest nonprofit social service agency in Monmouth County. It was founded in 1909 with a mission to help people at vulnerable times in their lives through education, intervention, care and counseling. Initially created to provide toys and food to local children in need during the holiday season, the organization now offers a wide range of programs including home care; caregiver services; the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP); Reading Buddies; Healthy Buddies; Kids Corps; Operation Sleighbells; Medicare assistance; adult protective services; Representative Payee program; and the Thrift Boutique, also located in Long Branch. To find out more about FCS, visit www.fcsmonmouth.org.
“We are thrilled that The Curchin Group has chosen us as a beneficiary,” says FCS CEO Delly Beekman. “The money raised will help support the expansion of our Healthy Buddies program, which aims to reverse the childhood obesity epidemic by encouraging healthy eating habits and fostering a young child’s natural inclination to be active.”
Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore serves girls in Monmouth and Ocean counties with service centers in Toms River and Farmingdale. With the help of more than 5,000 adult volunteers, it provides program activities to more than 12,000 girls between the ages of 5 and 17, teaching them how to become women of courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place. Nationwide, more than 3-million girls and 890,000 adults belong to the organization.
To find out more about Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore, visit www.girlscoutsjs.org.
“We’re thankful that The Curchin Group selected us to receive proceeds from their annual miniature golf tournament,” says Susan H. McClure, CEO, Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore. “The money we receive will help us provide fun and exciting leadership activities for girls in Monmouth and Ocean counties. Girls need these activities now more than ever before as they grow and become successful women in today’s fast-paced world.”
