TINTON FALLS – The Assisted Living Federation of America (ALFA) has named Nicholas Walker, a server at the Chelsea at Tinton Falls, a 2012 Champion for Seniors, a distinction that reflects an extraordinary commitment to Chelsea residents.

Nick Walker, center, receives congratulations from The Chelsea at Tinton Falls Executive Director Kathie Deak, left, and Priscilla Rackliffe, the food service director, for being named a 2012 Champion for Seniors.

Walker received the citation for exemplary professional service and championing choice, dignity, independence and quality of life for the senior residents he serves each day. While his title is server, Chelsea Executive Director Kathie Deak said, “Helping a resident walk his dog, running personal errands on his own time, dancing with residents and finding lost walkers are tasks not in his formal job description.”
In addition to being an all-around force for good at the Chelsea, Walker has also spearheaded fundraising efforts for the Susan B. Komen Foundation and the Ronald McDonald House.
“Receiving this recognition is a testament to your superior level of commitment to your community, the seniors whose lives you touch every day and the senior living industry as a whole,” said Richard P. Grimes, President and CEO of ALFA.
The Chelsea at Tinton Falls, 1 Hartford Drive, offers assisted living and an Alzheimer’s/memory impairment program.
