Esther Johanna Ciccone (nee: Reinhardt), 89, of Monmouth Beach, passed away Wednesday, November 8. Born in New York City, she graduated from High School in St. Louis, Missouri. Esther always loved the beach, which is where she met the love of her life, Thomas. They married in 1948 and they began their family in Newark, then settled in Short Hills. A dedicated businesswoman, she and her husband Thomas operated Georges’ Auto Electric at Park Avenue and First Street in Newark, a family run business since 1925, from 1950 until Thomas’ passing in 1982. She continued in his stead for another five years until her retirement in 1987.
An avid traveler, she enjoyed seeing the world, and her pride and joy were her grandchildren. Esther was also a communicant of Church of the Precious Blood in Monmouth Beach.
She was the beloved wife of the late Thomas Ciccone. She was the loving mother of son, George Ciccone and wife Theresa and their children, Eliza Ciccone and fiancé Benjamin Rosen and Thomas Ciccone, and daughter Jill Ciccone and her son, Nathaniel Corey and wife Kathryn Trimble and their son, Maddox Mason Corey. Esther was predeceased by her siblings, Benjamin and Howard Reinhardt.
