Mary Therese Colando, 87, of Colts Neck, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 22. She was born in Brooklyn, New York, to the late John J. Conklin and Mary (Connelly). She lived in Colts Neck for most of her life.
Mary was a graduate of Red Bank Catholic and Chestnut Hill College and also graduated from Catherine Gibbs. She was very active at St. Mary’s Parish in Colts Neck where she was formerly an organist.
Mary was a former member of Monmouth Beach Bath and Tennis Club for many years where she initiated the Round Robin tournaments at the club for all ages. She was previously an active member of the Colts Neck Sports Foundation.
She was predeceased by her husband, Stephen G. Colando; her brother, John “Bud: J. Conklin Jr., and her sister, Ann Marie Benson. Mary is survived by her loving children, Stephanie A. Colando, Mary T. Paraskevas and her husband Matthew, Stephen G. Colando Jr. and his wife Patricia, Christopher J. Colando and his wife Kim and Esther M. Colando; her brother, Francis J. Conklin and his wife Danielle; her precious grandchildren, Michelle and her husband Will Craft, Michael and his wife Danielle Paraskevas, Lauren and her husband Andrew Langan, Christopher “CJ” and Nicholas Colando and Destiny Colando. Also surviving are her great-grandson, Jayden Craft; and many nieces and nephews and friends.
