SHREWSBURY – The Community YMCA Board of Directors re-elected three board officers and welcomed seven new members at its 140th Annual Meeting on June 25 at Buona Sera in Red Bank.
The nonprofit charitable organization is celebrating its 140th anniversary of service this year.
“It truly is an historic moment in this organization’s long and impactful history,” Board Chairperson and Chief Volunteer Officer Patricia Whittemore said during her welcome remarks at the meeting. “Since our very beginning 140 years ago, volunteers who care about kids and community have worked side-by-side with Y employees to make a difference in our community.”
In addition to re-electing Whittemore, the board re-appointed Joseph Oriolo, Shrewsbury, as vice chairman and John Badenhop, Little Silver, as treasurer. Appointed as new board members were: Christian Buckman, Oceanport; Bryan Kuderna, Tinton Falls; Dan Matarese and Chris Mosley, both of Marlboro; Kenny Simmons, Matawan; Remsen Straub, Red Bank; and Alex Wright, Monmouth Beach.
The Board of Directors is responsible for establishing policies for The Community YMCA and providing leadership for financial development, strategic planning, operations and community collaborations.
