Costabile Jr., Arthur, Age: 75, Hazlet

659

Arthur Costabile Jr., 75, of Hazlet, passed away on Thursday, June 16. Originally from Brooklyn, New York, he moved to Hazlet in 2015. Born with developmental disabilities in 1941, Arthur was a kind, happy soul who loved animals and music. During music therapy in the 1950s, he learned to play the piano and trumpet. His favorite pieces to play were patriotic songs.

Arthur was an avid fan of the Brooklyn Dodgers and cried when they moved to LA. There wasn’t a police show or western he didn’t love; the Streets of San Francisco, Dragnet and Bonanza among his favorites. He had an uncanny ability with remembering dates of family events, often shocking those who did not know him as well as his family members did.

Arthur was predeceased by his father, Arthur Costabile; his mother, Anna Costabile; and a sister, Jeanette Costabile.

He is survived by his niece, Carolyn Broullon and her wife, Donica Basinger; his niece, Suzanne Broullon and her husband, John Britch; his great-nephew, Alexander Britch; and a great-niece, Madeline Britch.

Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Hazlet, was in charge of arrangements. Memorial donations may be made in his memory to the Guild for Exceptional Children (GEC), 260 68th Street, Brooklyn, NY 11220 or at www.gecbklyn.org.
