NEPTUNE – Monmouth County Surrogate Rosemarie D. Peters will be setting up a fourth satellite office location to better serve residents in the coastal area of the county.
The new office will be located in the County Connection Office at 3544 State Highway 66.
“The Surrogate’s office will have a probate clerk available at the County Connection on the first Monday of each month,” Peters said. “At this location, residents will be able to apply to probate a will or administer an estate if there is no will, get affidavits of surviving spouse or next of kin, or apply for a guardianship of a minor.”
The first day was Monday, March 4. Appointments are available by calling 732-431-7330, ext. 7335.
The County Connection is already a satellite office of the Monmouth County Clerk M. Claire French that offers many residents a more convenient location to access many county services.
“Although we have two locations fairly close by in Ocean Township and in Wall, this is the only location that will be open after 4:30 p.m.” Peters said. “The late afternoon hours make it attractive for people who have to take time off from work to get to any of our other locations.”
“This is another step forward in government service,” Freeholder Lillian G. Burry said. “By having extended hours and joining with the County Connection, thousands of residents who require services from the Monmouth County Surrogate’s Office will be able to do so closer to home.”
Peters said that the new location is being provided at no additional cost to taxpayers. The County Connection location will require no added personnel since a member of the probate staff will be assigned to work at the new location for the day.
Other satellite offices of the Surrogate’s Office are located at the Middletown Township Library, 55 New Monmouth Road, on Tuesdays; Wall Township Library, Allaire and Bailey’s Corner roads, on Wednesdays; and at the Ocean Township Library, 701 Deal Road, on Thursdays. All three of these offices are open from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The main office of the Monmouth County Surrogate is located in the Hall of Records, l Main St., Freehold. That office is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
