MANASQUAN – Monmouth County has added an evening backyard composting clinic to be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 24, at the Manasquan Recreation Annex at 67 Atlantic Ave.
Attendees will learn the how-to’s of reducing yard and household waste and improving soil after the informative 45-minute presentation. In addition to the April 24 workshop, two other dates are offered: 10 a.m. Saturday, April 12, at Middletown, Deep Cut Gardens, 352 Red Hill Road, and 9:30 a.m. Saturday, May 17, at the Marlboro Recreation Complex, Wyncrest Road.
The workshops are free, but advance registration is required. To reserve one of the limited seats, call 732-683-8686, ext. 6721, or download the registration form from the recycling section of the county Reclamation Center’s webpage at www.visitmonmouth.com.
Participants may purchase an Earth Machine backyard composting bin at the session for $35. Payment must be by a check made payable to “Monmouth County Grant Fund.”
