RED BANK – It’s been one year since Cupcake Magician open and from 12:30 – 3 p.m. Sunday, June 3, a celebration will be held at its 54 Monmouth St. location. Highlights at the event will include face-painting, magic tricks, a tea party hosted by Salon La De Da and at 2 p.m. a drawing for a dozen cupcakes a month for a year.
Cupcake Magician, a family-owned and operated bakery, has won numerous awards, including Best in Show at The Community YMCA’s A Taste of the Two Rivers.
During the anniversary party, Cupcake Magician also will celebrate the work of its June Sweet Charity partner, The Community YMCA, which will receive 15 percent of sales from the French Toast cupcake through June 30.
Since its opening, each month, Cupcake Magician selects a nonprofit organization to receive 25 percent of the sales from one of its 35 varieties of cupcakes as part of its Sweet Charity in-store fundraising program. Past Sweet Charity partners have included the Monmouth County SPCA, Count Basie Theatre, Blues Star Mothers of the Jersey Shore, Riverview Medical Center, Autism Speaks, Visiting Nurse Association Health Group, and the ARC of Monmouth County. Nonprofit representatives may obtain a Sweet Charity application by stopping by the bakery on Monmouth Street.
In conjunction with the event, Gaetano’s in Red Bank is offering a Pasta Afternoon Special from 2-4 p.m. with the purchase of each adult pasta dinner; get one child’s pasta dinner free. Salon La De Da will be distributing coupons for $20 off a $50 hair service, good through the end of the year.
