SEA BRIGHT – Demolition work was begun Monday morning on the Rum Runner, one of the 11 restaurants owned by Tim McLoone.
The waterfront restaurant on Ocean Avenue, the first of those in McLoone’s restaurant group, was heavily damaged by Super Storm Sandy in October 2012 and has remained closed since the storm. Plans call for construction to begin on the new restaurant building on the Shrewsbury River as soon as possible.
Hopes are to have the new Rum Rummer, built in the same location, up and running by next Memorial Day for the start of the 2015 summer season.
