TINTON FALLS – Ranney School has named Kevin Donnelly as its director of admissions and financial aid, reporting to Head of School Dr. John W. Griffith.
Donnelly holds a B.A. in English/writing from Kean University of New Jersey, and a M.A. in educational leadership and policy from Seton Hall University. He joined Ranney School from Oratory Preparatory School in Summit, where he was director of admissions.
“Kevin embodies a contagious energy and enthusiasm about the role schools like Ranney play in the lives of students, families and communities,” Griffith said. “As such, he has built a successful career in admissions and enrollment management, using his strong communication skills, knowledge and expertise to attract families and students to schools he has represented.”
Kevin’s career also includes initial work in the business world and experience in teaching and coaching. Throughout his career, he has connected closely with students in his role as coach, including as head coach at Oratory Prep for varsity lacrosse and basketball, and as assistant director of athletics, coach and teacher at Bayley-Ellard Catholic High School in Madison.
Donnelly’s experience in admissions speaks to his goal-driven nature, and his ability to market the value-added aspects of school mission, Griffith said.
He has been active in the New Jersey Association of Independent Schools, and will serve next year on its steering committee for admissions directors.
Donnelly is looking forward to meeting with local families interested in learning more about the school this summer, and during the school’s fall open house, scheduled for 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 5 and 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, at the Hope Road campus.
