The Monmouth County Library Commission has welcomed its newest member, Peter T. Doyle of Atlantic Highlands.
Doyle, a borough councilman, was sworn in to a five-year term as library commissioner during the commission’s meeting this month.
The commission also welcomed back Library Commissioner and Shrewsbury Mayor Donald Burden, who was reappointed to a five-year term after serving an unexpired term for the commission in 2013.
The commission also voted to reappoint Renee B. Swartz as commission chair.
Doyle has served on the Atlantic Highlands Borough Council since 2006. He works as a corporate analyst for Moody’s Corporation. Burden was elected to the Shrewsbury Council in 2003, and then elected in 2010. He is a graduate of Gettysburg College in Pennsylvania, and currently a member of the Gettysburg College Board of Trustees.
His professional career spanned more than 47 years of employment with the McGraw-Hill Companies, where he worked as an editor, publisher and marketer for college textbooks. He was director of marketing services for McGraw-Hill Higher Education in New York City before his retirement.
Both terms with the library commission run through 2018.
