Robert Dunphy, 81, of Middletown, died on September 6 in Holmdel. He was born in Queens, N.Y., and lived in Staten Island and Middletown since 1979. Robert worked as a longshoreman for Universal Maritime, Newark, for many years retiring in 2001. Robert was a veteran of the US Marines serving during the Korean War.
Robert was prededeased by his wife of 36 years, Dolores Dunphy in 2001. Surviving are his daughters, Kris Dunphy of Middletown, Robin and her husband Joseph Sheridan of Keyport; his son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Jill Dunphy of Rancho Cordova, Calif.; and three grandchildren, Taylor, Jared and Brody.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 11 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, 115 Tindall Road, Middletown. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday September 12, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown.
