FAIR HAVEN – During a regular meeting of the governing body March 12, Eric Jaeger was sworn in as the borough’s newest council member.

The current council members selected Jaeger in a unanimous vote. He will be filling the seat recently vacated by now-Mayor Benjamin Lucarelli.

Lucerelli’s appointment came after former Mayor Michael Halfacre was named head of the state division of Alcoholic Beverage Control by Governor Chris Christie earlier this year.

After a round of applause, Jaeger was swiftly sworn in as councilman. He was immediately able to participate in the council meeting.

Afterwards, Councilman Koch said, “I want to thank everybody who interviewed”, noting that he was impressed with all of the candidates for the job. He encouraged all who were considered for the position to continue their involvement in Fair Haven.
