COLTS NECK – A tree fell on a woman driving a Ford Mustang convertible southbound on Route 34 Saturday afternoon, killing her.
According to Colts Neck Police Chief Kevin A. Sauter, the victim was Stacey Weathers, 46, of Tinton Falls. She was pronounced dead at the scene at 4:41 p.m. There were no other occupants in the car.
The tragic incident happened at Route 34 between Clover Hill Drive and Highfield Lane. The tree fell from the northbound side at 4:25 p.m. Route 34 was closed until 8:45 p.m.
The investigation is being conducted by Colts Neck Township Police. Anyone with information related to the crash are asked to contact Sgt. Kristian DeVito of the Colts Neck Fire Dept. at 732-780-7323
