First Financial Foundation Looking for Scholarship ApplicantsĀ

The First Financial Federal Credit Union Foundation has announced that May 31 is the deadline for applications for the six $750 scholarships it will be awarding to undergraduate students this year.
Three Erma Dorrer Scholarships will be awarded to First Financial members who will be attending school for the fall semester or who are already attending a two- or four-year college anywhere in the United States.
Three additional scholarships will be awarded to nonmembers who must be attending or will be attending a college or university located in Monmouth or Ocean counties.
There are no age restrictions to apply but the scholarship program is open to undergraduate students only, Those in trade or technical school do not qualify.
This year there are two scholarship topics.  Applicants may choose to answer one of the following questions:
1.  How have the recent financial events of 2011 (Wall Street Protest and Bank Transfer Day) affected your opinion of credit unions? What is your perspective in regard to First Financial Federal Credit Union?
2. Compare and contrast commercial banks to First Financial and the Credit Union movement.
Applicants can submit either a written essay or video clip with their answer. Video clips should be recorded and uploaded to YouTube prior to applying. Creativity is encouraged.  Winners will be announced on July 2.
