James J. Flynn Jr., better known as, “Jimmy”, 38, of Hazlet, passed away suddenly surrounded by his loving family on Monday, August 31 at Ocean Medical Center in Brick. Jimmy was born on November 6, 1976 in South Amboy and grew up in Hazlet. He was a graduate of Raritan High School, class of 1995, and continued his education studying economics at Rutgers University, where he received his bachelor of science degree. Jimmy was a huge fan of the New York Mets, the New York Giants, and the San Antonio Spurs. He also was an avid golfer.

Jimmy’s family described him as an extremely warm and loving person, who could bring a smile to anyone’s face by simply being around him and brighten up your day. To know Jimmy, was to love him.

He was predeceased by his grandparents, James W. and Marian Robertson, and James A. and Anna Flynn.

Jimmy is survived by his loving parents, Margaret (Robertson) Flynn and James J. Flynn Sr.; his adoring twin sister, Jennifer Kirsch and her husband Christopher of Barnegat; his dear sister, Stacey Varga and her husband Joseph of Hazlet; his cherished niece and nephews, Landon Kirsch, Connor Kirsch, Alexandra Varga and Daniel Varga; his adoring godmother, Gloria Jean Walsh; and many special aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members and friends. He will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.

Visitation and a prayer service was held on Friday, September 4 at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Hazlet. In respect of Jimmy’s wishes, he was privately cremated.
