TINTON FALLS – Former Red Bank Mayor Edward J. McKenna Jr. is scheduled to appear in municipal court on Aug. 20 for his trial on charges that he was driving while intoxicated on the Garden State Parkway last month.
McKenna’s attorney, Edward G. Washburne, entered his client’s plea of not guilty in municipal court on Monday.
State Police charged McKenna with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving and unsafe lane change after his vehicle struck a guardrail on the parkway on the evening of May 13.
McKenna was the borough’s mayor from 1990-2006.
