Fried’s Paintings at Second Story Art Gallery

ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS – The Second Story Art Gallery is presenting painter Clay Fried’s exhibition, “Small Town Calling,” through April 19.
Working in the genre of plein air, Fried sees his work not only as a record of the places he lives and visits, but as a metaphor for his place in the world. Plein air painting is associated primarily with the Barbizon and impressionist painters of the 19th and early 20th centuries, but has continued to be a popular mode of painting ever since.
Located at 78 First Ave., Second Story Art Gallery exhibits artwork that is highly crafted, but also goes beyond the material and speaks to and comments on its experiences in the world. Committed to the local community, Second Story Art Gallery works with other galleries and arts organizations to promote arts and culture in Monmouth County.
