Adelaide Froehlich, 89, formerly of Port Monmouth and currently of Matawan, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, August 18 at Raritan Bay Medical Center in Old Bridge. She was born Adelaide Ferchland on June 5, 1926 in Brooklyn, N.Y., where she grew up. She was one of 12 children. On April 14, 1953, Adelaide and her husband, Robert, were married and began their life together in Canarsie, Brooklyn, where they also raised their family. Later in life, Adelaide settled in Port Monmouth.
She was predeceased by her husband, Robert P. Froehlich. Adelaide is survived by her loving children, Robert K. Froehlich and his wife Iris of Middletown, and Ronald K. Froehlich and his lady friend Karen Lyn Barone of Rockaway, N.Y.; her dear twin sister, Dorothy Ballard, and her sisters, Florence Harvey, and Bertha Keller; her cherished grandchildren, Christie Mortorano and her husband Sal, Adam Froehlich and his wife Kristin, Nicole Stewart and her husband Dennis, Danielle Vaughn and her husband Craig, Tara Ernst and her husband Nick, Krystal and Matthew Froehlich; and 12 adored great grandchildren. She will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.
Visitation was held on Thursday, August 20 and Friday, August 21 at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Hazlet. A prayer service was offered at the funeral home on Friday, August 21.
