Anna Greco, 94, presently of Manalapan, formerly of Lincroft, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Friday, November 3. She was born Anna Cincinnati, on December 29, 1922 in Aiello Calabro in the province of Cosenza, Italy, where she also grew up and married her husband, Fausto Greco. In 1963, they immigrated to the U.S. and began their new life in North Bergen, where they raised their family. In 2000, Anna settled in Lincroft.
She was predeceased by her parents, James and Bessie (Petrowski) Cincinnati; and her beloved and devoted husband, Fausto Greco. Anna is survived by her loving children, Ann Pettineo and her husband, Charles, of North Carolina, Silvana Greco of Bridgewater, Flo D’Elia and her husband, Vincent, of Colts Neck, and Frank Greco and his wife, Denise, of Fair Lawn; along with her cherished grandchildren, Gabrielle Pettineo, Amanda Pettineo, Jessica D’Elia, Matthew Pettineo, Jeffrey D’Elia and Nicholas Greco.
Even though Anna embraced American culture, she integrated her Italian roots in daily life through her generous spirit, her love of cooking and hosting family gatherings.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Thursday, November 9 from 4 to 8 p.m. and Friday, November 10 from 8:45 to 9:30 a.m. at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Hwy/Rt 35 N, Hazlet. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, November 10 at 10:15 a.m. at St. Leo the Great Church in Lincroft. Entombment will be at Fairview Cemetery, Fairview.
