Janice L. Greenberg, 88, passed away on April 12 at Arbor Terrace at Shrewsbury in Tinton Falls. Born in Connecticut to the late Theos and Dorothy (Hatch) Langlie, she resided in Riverwoods, Illinois, before moving to Rumson 45 years ago.

Before meeting Richard and raising their family, Janice was proudly employed as an airline hostess for several years with TWA.

She was a graduate of Green Mountain College in Vermont, a member of Tower Hill First Presbyterian Church at Red Bank and an avid boater who loved spending time with family and friends traveling on their boat. She was a longtime member of the United States Power Squadron.

She spent many years leading a Mariner Girl Scout Troop, sharing her love of boating. Her troop participated in week-long resident programs at Mystic Seaport in Mystic, Connecticut, traveling by boat from New Jersey to Mystic.

Janice was predeceased by her husband of 28 years, Richard H. Greenberg; her sister, Phyllis Martin; and her grandson, Kurt Leswing. Surviving are her children, Sharon G. Sperber and her husband, Mark, of Bedminster, Kristi E. Leswing and her husband, Jeffrey, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Richard L. Greenberg of Oceanport; her brother-in-law, George Martin, of New Britain, Connecticut; her grandchildren, Langlie Schneider, Lauren Bartlett (husband Brian) and Tait Leswing; her great-grandchildren, Nicole and Morgan Schneider, and their father Donald Schneider, and Reese and Tadd Bartlett; two nephews and their wives and children; and her dear friend, Minerva Llewellyn.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 23 at 5 p.m. at Tower Hill First Presbyterian Church, 255 Harding Rd., Red Bank.
