Robert “Bob” Guest, age 95 of Ocala, Florida, died April 14 at Palm Gardens Rehab Center in Ocala.

He was the beloved husband of the late Edith “Peggy” Guest for 66 years.

He was born in Jersey City on March 9, 1923 to the late Harry and Josephine (West) Guest. After returning from World War II, he completed his education at New York University and spent most of his career working in New York City for Columbia University as director of the Financial Control and Trust Administration.

Bob and Peggy lived in Navesink from 1958 – 1973 where they raised three children in a wonderful small town. They were members of Beacon Hill and Deal country clubs. Bob was also active in the Freemasons.

They retired to Ridge Manor, Florida in 1985. Both were avid golfers and played many rounds with friends at the Whispering Oaks Country Club. In 2008 they relocated to Ocala, Florida.

Bob was a caring and wonderful man and had many friends and will be missed by them and his family.

He is survived by his children, Robert E. Guest Jr. and his wife Anne of Ocala, Florida; Virginia Matena and her husband Philip of Rumson; David Guest and his wife Dana of Little Silver; four grandchildren, Mackenzie, Caitlyn, Peter and Taylor; and three great-grandchildren, Elliot, Luke and Charles.

He was predeceased by a brother, Harry and a sister, Grace Charlton.

Private interment will take place at the National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida. Memorial donations can be made to a charity close to your heart.
