Steven A. Harris, 60, of Shrewsbury, passed away on Tuesday, August 25 at home after a brave battle with cancer. He was born in Bridgeton in 1954 to Lawrence H. and Velma (Harris) Wible. He graduated Bridgeton High School and then attended Rutgers University. He was store manager for Shop Rite of Spotswood for 15 years. Steven was an avid Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies fan.
He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Judson and Lora Harris; his maternal grandparents, Arthur and Alice Roberts; his parents, Lawrence H. and Velma (Harris) Wible; a stepfather, George Tullis; a stepfather, William Wible; his sister, Beatrice Marx; a father-in-law, Richard H. Donlan; and a nephew, Sean Draus. Steven is survived by his wife of 31 years, Susan Harris, his daughter, Jennifer Harris, and a son, Adam Harris, all of Shrewsbury; a brother, Rev. Lawrence Harris and his wife Lynn of Glassboro; his mother-in-law, Phyllis Donlan; four sister-in-laws and two brothers in-laws, Judith Holler and her husband Gerard, Alan Donlan and his wife Eileen, Joyce Miller and her husband Joseph, Sandra Donlan, Barbara Daniels and her husband John, Donald Marx; and numerous nieces and nephews. Steven was a beloved husband and proud father. He will be remembered as caring, patient and thoughtful. His good nature and sense of humor never left him.
Visitation was held on Friday, August 28. A funeral home service was conducted at John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank, on Saturday, August 29. Interment was private.
