Center Offers Free Breast Screening Programs

LONG BRANCH – In recognition of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Jacqueline M. Wilentz Comprehensive Breast Center will be providing a free breast education and screening program at each of its satellite locations throughout October and early November.
The programs will feature free clinical breast exams and screening mammograms. Same-day mammogram reads will be available. Each event will also feature assessment for the High Risk Cancer Program, breast health education, refreshments and giveaways.

The free breast education and screening programs will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. on:

Tuesday, Oct. 8, at the center in Colts Neck at 310 Route 34 south

Wednesday, Oct. 16, at the center in Howell at 59 Kent Road

Tuesday, Oct. 29, at Monmouth Medical Center, 300 Second Ave., Long Branch

Thursday, Nov. 7, at Kimball Medical Center, Suite 200, 500 River Ave., Lakewood

Screenings are open to insured and uninsured women. Screenings for uninsured women are made possible by a grant from the Central and South Jersey Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure®. If insured, insurance information will be required at time of registration.

VNA TO HOLD WALK-IN FLU SHOT CLINIC

RED BANK – The Visiting Nurse Association Health Group (VNA) is offering walk-in flu shot clinic for adults and children over 12. The clinics will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesdays, Oct. 16 and 30, at the VNA office at 176 Riverside Ave.
The flu vaccine is $30 per shot and the pneumonia vaccine is $72. Those will Medicare Part B will be able to get the immunizations for free.
The Centers for Disease Control recommends that everyone over age 6 months gets a seasonal flu shot.
No appointments are necessary.
