The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for Thursday for the northern and central part of the state, including Monmouth County.
The predicted rain follows two days of heavy steady rain since last Friday.
The flood watch is in effect Thursday morning through Late Thursday night.
“Rainfall totals of 1 to 3 inches are expected … with locally higher amounts. Rivers and creeks are running high due to the heavy rain that occurred on Friday and Monday. As a result, it will not take much rain to produce new flooding in our region,” said the statement from the National Weather Service.
