HIGHLANDS – Two candidates, both with borough governing experience, have filed to run for mayor in the Nov. 8 general election.
Councilman Doug Card faces former Mayor Rick O’Neil for the mayor’s seat. In the Highlands, candidates run unaffiliated with a political party.
The mayor’s seat carries a four-year term. Mayor Frank L. Nolan is not seeking re-election. Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Nov. 8.
Also on the ballot are races for president, House of Representatives, Monmouth County Board of Freeholders, county sheriff, county surrogate and the local and regional Boards of Education.
