Hoyt, Andrew Anson, Age: 68, Red Bank

Andrew Anson Hoyt, 68, died on Sunday, Jan. 31 at Monmouth Care Center in Long Branch. He was born to Helen and Anson Hoyt in Red Bank. Raised in Rumson, he spent time at the ARC of Monmouth County before attending the Woods School in Langhorne, Pennsylvania, and the Amackassin School in Blairstown.

Andy would often be found riding his bike throughout the Rumson area, spending time at the Navesink River and talking to friends and strangers alike. He often accompanied his parents on their boat for local trips. Oceanic Fire Company graciously accepted him as a social member and treated him with kindness, extending him invitations to all their events for 50 years.

He considered everyone he met as family. He cared about each person he met and never failed to refer to them as Aunt or Uncle. Andy was known for telling animated tall tales and delighting in making people smile and laugh.

He especially enjoyed celebrating his birthday each year with family and friends. Andy looked forward to events at Oceanic Fire Company and the annual Fair Haven Fireman’s Fair each summer.

He was predeceased by his parents; and sister, Sally Robison.

He is survived by his sisters, Connie Hoyt Drew and her husband, Bob of Charleston, South Carolina, and Judy Hoyt Dorn and her husband Dan of Ocean; and eight nieces.

Andy’s family extends a special thank you to the staff at Monmouth Care Center for the loving care they gave Andy for the past several years.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 12 at the First Presbyterian Church at Rumson, 4 East River Road.

Memorial donations may be made to Oceanic Fire Company, 25 West River Road, Rumson, NJ 07760.
