W. Scott Johnsen, 56, of Oceanport, passed away on Wednesday, August 3 at the Riverview Medical Center. He was born in Long Branch to his parents, the late Frederick C. and Dorothy Lorenzo Johnsen, and lived in Oceanport for the past 23 years.
He was member of the St. George’s-by-the-River Episcopal Church in Rumson and a past vestry member and an active member of their building and grounds committee. Scott was a graduate of the Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken and pursued his graduate studies at the New Jersey Institute of Technology, Newark, and Stevens Institute of Technology.
His career of over 30 years included, H.N.T.B in Fairfield as senior bridge engineer, NJ Turnpike Authority as senior supervisor engineer and most recently director of structures for Greenman-Pedersen Inc. in Lebanon.
Scott was predeceased by his parents and a sister, Susan Johnsen. He is survived by his wife, Meredith C. Johnsen; two sons, Andrew “Andy” M. and Christopher “Chris” W. Johnsen both of Oceanport; a sister, Linda J. Naiman of Little Silver; and eight nieces and nephews.
