Claire Johnson, 91, of Oceanport, left this earth peacefully on Saturday, September 24 surrounded by her loving family and friends. Claire was born and raised in Long Branch, graduated high school there and then married her childhood sweetheart Ralph Johnson on Valentines Day, 1945. They were married 70 years and are now together again. They settled in Oceanport in 1958 to raise their family.

Claire was always there to lend support to her family, either rolling up her sleeves to help or with her quiet wisdom. Her talent for baking was well known by many – pies in particular. When apple pies were on her dessert menu, the dinner or party always seemed to grow in numbers! She retired from the Oceanport School system, however her family was always her true occupation. Claire will be deeply missed.

She was predeceased by her husband, Ralph Johnson; her parents, Mahlon Fulton and Jessie Pitt Fulton; her siblings, Edith Pearsall, Mahlon Fulton and Dorothy Herberg; and her great-grandson. Benjamin Richard Molnar. Surviving are her children, Wayne and his wife Mary Johnson of Oceanport, Linda and her husband Charles Jones of Shrewsbury and Eric and his wife Dana Johnson of Middletown; her brother, Jack Fulton; grandchildren, Kristen and Stephen Molnar, Karen and Julio Diaz, Chris and Melissa Jones, Jennifer Jones and Dan Smith, Brian and Sarah Jones, Caroline Jones, Matthew Johnson, Brett Johnson, Erika Leigh Johnson and Gregory Johnson; great-grandchildren, Stephen, Katelyn and Julianna Molnar, Claire and Lucas Diaz and Madison, Ryder and Rowan Jones; her many loving nieces and nephews; and her beloved caregivers, Denise Clarke and Ellen Dorsa. Also many thanks to Lynn Hayes at VNA.

Woolley-Boglioli Funeral Home, Long Branch, was in charge of arrangements. To share a favorite memory of Claire or send a message of condolence to the family please visit www.woolleyboglioli.com.
