Anne C. Kapushy, 86, of Atlantic Highlands, died on Thursday, June 30 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. She was born in Woodbury and resided in southern New Jersey before moving to Atlantic Highlands area in 1953. Mrs. Kapushy was a teacher at the Keyport Central School for over 40 years and retired in 1994. She received her bachelors degree from Drexel University, Philadelphia, in 1951 and her master’s degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University, Teaneck, in 1981. She was also a member of the NJEA.

Mrs. Kapushy was predeceased by her husband, Albert Kapushy in 2004; and a daughter, Mary Anne Basso in 2005. She is survived by two sons, Albert Kapushy and his wife Estelle of Hazlet and Thomas Kapushy and his wife Stacey of Lancaster, Pennsylvania;, two daughters, Janice Tonks and her husband Kevin of Boynton Beach, Florida, and Patricia DeVuyst and her husband Donald of Tequesta, Florida. She is also survived by four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and her beloved dog, Freddy.

Memorial donations in her memory may be made to the Popcorn Park Zoo, PO Box 50, Forked River, NJ 08731-0050. Posten’s Funeral Home, Atlantic Highlands, was in charge of arrangements.
