Dorothy “Dot” Kay, 88, of Red Bank and Palm City, Florida, past away peacefully at home on Monday, September 5. Born in East Orange, Dot spent her summers at the Jersey Shore where she met the love of her life Jack Kay. They married shortly after she graduated from Keyport High School. They were married almost 65 years and together they raised their two daughters in Lincroft and Rumson.

Dot was a former member of Deal Golf & Country Club, she was a 9 holer, a member of the Deal Dolls bowling group and an avid mahjong player which she loved playing with her wonderful group of Deal friends.

Dot loved games and puzzles and started her beloved grandchildren playing at an early age. She was devoted to her loving husband, daughters and grandchildren and was happiest in their company as well as with her pet and companion, Pumpkin.

Dot was predeceased by her parents, Edward and Florence Brennan; her brother, William; her loving husband, Jack; and her beloved daughter, Debra. She survived by her sister, Florence Healy; her beloved daughter, Marsha Mullen and her husband Barry; a son-in-law, Steven Podhaizer; her grandchildren, Falynn, Derek, Peter, Abigail and Michelle; and her great-grandchildren, Makenzie and Carly; as well as many nieces, nephews and loving friends. A special thank you to her caregivers, Ana and her sister Lana, who lovingly cared for her over the last two years.

Thompson Memorial Home, Red Bank, is in charge of arrangements. A celebration of her life will be planned for a later date. Memorial donations in the name of Dorothy Kay may be made to Interfaith Neighbors, 810 Fourth Ave, Asbury Park, NJ 07712, would be greatly appreciated.
