Leo Kordoski, 88, of Little Silver, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Monday, March 7. He was born in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, to the late Joseph and Rosalie Kordoski, and had lived in Eatontown before moving to Little Silver over 60 years ago.

Leo worked as a technical writer for Fort Monmouth, and he also proudly served our countr y in the Army during the Korean War and became a disabled Combat Veteran. He was a communicant of St. James R.C. Church in Red Bank, and had a deep passion for music, especially Frank Sinatra.

Leo’s other hobbies included electronics, building Heath Kits and aviation.

Leo was predeceased by Raymond of Newark, William of Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, Joseph of Astoria, New York, Josephine Finigan of Queens, New York, Florence Mancuso of Carbondale, Pennsylvania, Jean McEntee Woodside, Queens, New York and Margaret Zavich of Novato, California.

Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Roberta M. Kordoski; his daughter, Linda J. Chehanske and her husband John Chehanske Jr. of Freehold Township, Robert David Kordoski and Lorraine M. Kordoski of Catawba, North Carolina. Also surviving are his cherished grandchildren, Ryan D. Chehanske of North Carolina and Michael T. Chehanske of Delaware, Maryland.

Visitation will be held at John E. Day Funeral Home, 85 Riverside Ave., Red Bank, on Thursday, March 10 from 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral home service will take place on Friday, March 11 at 11 a.m. with interment to follow at Monmouth Memorial Park.
