Jon David Kryscnski, 51, of Washington, D.C., died at his home in Washington. He was born in Red Bank, resided in Middletown through his college years, and lived in Washington for the last 24 years.

Jon graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a B.S. in Materials Engineering and from MIT with a MS in metallurgy. He went on to work for General Dynamics, Electric Boat Division; The Department Of The Navy, Seawolf Program; the Department of Defense, and the CIA among others, spending the last few years working as an Independent contractor and consultant. His work focused on providing management and engineering solutions to protect the security of the United States. Amongst his many accomplishments he received many awards, Most Notably, Navy Meritorious Unit Commendation Medal (2006) and Navy Meritorious Civilian Service Medal (2000) Alion Science & Technology CEO Award for Community Service and Volunteerism, “Our Military Kids,” (2011).

He was kind, thoughtful, generous and loved animals. Jon was dedicated to God and Country. Jon enjoyed watching NASCAR racing, having visited most of the racetracks in the country. He also enjoyed watching New York Yankee baseball and the Washington Nationals, his adopted team. Jon took advantage of the many cultural exhibits available in the Smithsonian Museums. He was also an avid reader, making sure to read at least an hour every day.

Surviving are his parents, Edward and Myra Kryscnski; a brother, Stephen, and a niece, Meghan Kryscnski; and a nephew, Ryan Kryscnski; many cousins, and his loyal loving cat Paige.
