Local Election Results – Nov. 2015

TRT-square-wUpdated 3 p.m., Nov. 4– The unofficial poll results for the Two River area. The results are considered unofficial until mail-in ballots and provisional ballots are processed and results certified by the County Clerk.
Turnout was 22.68 percent of all registered voters.
According to the County Clerk’s office, a problem tabulating ballots Tuesday night resulted in reporting errors. The unofficial election results were reposted Wednesday, Nov. 4.


General Assembly, 11th District
Democrat Eric Houghtaling got 15,040 votes, and Joann Downey 14,800, beating Republicans Mary Pat Angelini with 14,601 and Caroline Casagrande with 14,363.


General Assembly, 13th District
Republicans Amy Handlin (19,745) and Declan O’Scanlon (18,893) easily beat Democrats Thomas Herman (12,831) and Jeanne Cullinane (12,677).  Joshua Leinsdorf got 762 votes.


County Clerk
Republican Christine Giordano Hanlon received 49,494 votes to beat Democrat Kevin A. Kane, who got 37,626 votes.


Freeholder
Republican John P. Curley has won with 48,972 votes to Democrat Carol Rizzo’s 37,526.


Atlantic Highlands
In the mayoral race, Democrat Rhonda LeGrice won with 847 votes to Republican John C. Archibald, Jr. with 559 votes.
The Democrats also won two Borough Council seats. Roy Dellosso (916) and Charles Lero (848) trumped Republicans James Krauss (513) and France Karras (489).


Colts Neck
Unopposed Republican candidates Michael D. Fitzgerald (1,071) and Joseph ”J.P.” Bartolomeo (1,046) earned two seats on the Township Committee.


Fair Haven
In the Borough Council election, Republicans Eric R. Jaeger (876) and Robert Marchese (834) will take the two open seats. Democrat Shervyn J. von Hoerl received 621 votes.
In the contested Board of Education election, the winners were Bennett Coleman (847), Michelle S. Buckley (655) and Carlie Jakub (632). Candidate Marisa Coar got 615 votes, and Mark Mancuso got 540.


Highlands
Five candidates ran for two Council Members-At-Large positions. Carolyn Broullon was the top vote-getter with 448, followed by Claudette D’Arrigo with 370. Candidates Tara K. Ryan-Killeen received 319, Kevin Redmond had 281, and William Caizza had 192.


Holmdel
In the Township Committee election, Republican Thomas Critelli will hold on to his seat by earning 1,483 votes. Democratic challenger Karen Strickland got 1,434 votes. There were 3 write in ballots.
In the contested Board of Education election, the winners were Victoria A. Flynn (1,415), Dina D’Ambrosi (1,340) and Joseph Hammer (1,328). Candidates Chiung-Yin Chen Liu got 1,222 and Cathy Lu got 1,149.


Little Silver
Three Republicans ran unopposed. Mayor Robert C. Neff (1,220), David Gilmour (1,161) and Glenn Talavera(1,144)  have been elected.
The referendum question on retail sales of alcoholic beverage in the borough has passed, 801 to 736.


Middletown
In the Township Committee election, Republican Stephen G. Massell won with 4,839 votes. Democrat Kevin Schwake received 3,129 votes.
Eight candidates ran for three seats on the Board of Education. The top vote-getter was Danielle Walsh with 3,121 votes, followed by Joan Minnuies with 2,993. James Cody got 2,642 votes.
Candidate Leonora Caminiti got 2,357 votes, Andy Nicholes got 2,186 votes, Mark Bouthillette received 1,824 votes, Thomas Ballard got 1,638 votes and Christopher Aveta got 1,479 votes,


Monmouth Beach
Five candidates sought three open seats at the Board of Education. The top vote getters were Kathleen Denker (360), David Baker (289) and Kirk Ruoff (234).
Candidates Michael Donohue got 202 and Lana Inacio 124.


Red Bank
In the Borough Council race, voters have narrowly selected Republicans over Democrats. Republican Mark D. Taylor was the top vote-getter, with 1,029 votes, along with running mate Michael P. Whelan with 963 votes. Democrats Michael R. Dupont got 959 votes, and Michael K. Ballard got 925 votes.
In the Board of Education race, six people sought three open seats. The top vote-getters were Carrie Ludwikowski (873), Ann Roseman (795) and Frederick J. Stone (630).
Candidates Richard J. Stout Jr. received 581, Michael Clancy got 536, and Irwin Katz received 487.


Rumson
In the mayor’s race, Mayor John Ekdahl, a Republican, has come through with 565 votes. His challenger, Michael Steinhorn, has received 294.
In the Borough Council election, the two Republicans ran unopposed. Marc E. Rubin (623) and John J. Conklin, III (629) have been elected.


Sea Bright
Incumbent Mayor Dina Long, who ran unopposed, has been re-elected with 236 votes.
Republican William J. Keeler and Democrat Marc A. Leckstein were elected to the Borough Council. Keeler got 195 votes and Leckstein got 143 votes. Both ran unopposed. There were 56 write-in votes in the election.


Shrewsbury Borough
In an election without opponents, Republicans Jeffrey DeSalvo earned 487 votes, and Republican Donald L. Eddy Jr. got 494 votes. There were 18 write-in votes.
